Recovery Work
The generous donations received by the Longwood Foundation and Brethren Disaster Ministries, in 2022, has enabled the ESBCLTRG to engage the case management process, with includes: included hiring contractors, purchasing materials, and coordinating volunteer labor to repair damaged homes from the flooding caused by Hurricane Ida in September 2021.


The Long Term Recovery Process
The disaster case management process begin with meeting with the client seeing assistance and completing a vulnerability needs assessment to determine what the needs are and what resources are needed to bring the family to recovery. See the diagram for a synopsis of the full process.
Funding
The ESBCLTRG is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation that receives donations from organizations to conduct recovery work on behalf of the residents impacted by disaster.

Community engagement is paramount to the mission and goals of the ESBCLTRG, which embraces the principles of justice, integrity, equity, and equality for all members of the 11th Street Bridge Community, in the City of Wilmington, Delaware.
Partnerships

Northeast-CERT, Northeast Rising, and ESBCLTRG members represent the 11th St. Bridge Community at the Brandywine Conservancy's Annual Meeting
The ESBCLTRG is project-oriented and focused on supporting best practices for restoration and mitigation through partnerships and community engagement with local, state, and federal agencies and other community groups with a shared mission​.

Mr. Brian Lennon shares updates with the community about the City of Wilmington's Flood Study with the goal of developing mitigation strategies to protect the community from future floods.
